Biography

Bakytzhan Sariyev is a public official and diplomat. He worked in the Prime Minister’s Office in 1996–1999 and held senior posts at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1999 to 2019, working in control and human resources before heading the ministry’s administration and the Minister’s Chancellery.

In 2016–2017, he also served as the ministry’s Ethics Commissioner. He was appointed Deputy Head of the Presidential Chancellery in March 2019 and subsequently headed the Civil Service and Personnel Policy Department of the Presidential Executive Office.

He was appointed Head of the Presidential Chancellery in June 2022. He trained in engineering and law and holds the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
