Born on 26 December 1959 in Alma-Ata, now Almaty.

Biography

Grigory Marchenko is a Kazakh financier and banker. He headed the National Bank of Kazakhstan twice, in 1999–2004 and 2009–2013, and chaired Halyk Bank’s management board in 2005–2009.

He also served as a presidential adviser and aide, and as First Deputy Prime Minister. He worked as an independent expert from October 2013.

On 13 October 2020, the Eurasian Development Bank announced his appointment as an adviser to its management board chairman.
